Mr. Milton Ison Irvin, age 99, of Tallapoosa, GA passed away January 9, 2016. He was born March 15, 1916 to the late Daniel and Carrie Irvin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agathy Irvin; daughter, Debra Cook; sons, Billy and Linda Irvin, Hugh Irvin and Larry Irvin; grandsons, Matt Hughes and Joseph Irvin; sisters, Carrie Lee Smith and Beatrice Royster; and brother, Eugene Irvin.

 

Mr. Irvin was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Tallapoosa. 

 

Mr. Irvin is survived by his daughter and son in law, Angela and Burl Meek of Tallapoosa; sons and daughters in law, Lee and Dolores Irvin of Hanover, VA, Sharon Irvin of Lorain, OH, Joe Irvin of Tallapoosa and Melvin and Judy Irvin of Carrollton, GA; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Sallie Breedlove of Charmin, AL; and brother James Daniel “J. D.” Irvin of TX; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2015 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Sanders officiating. Pallbearers serving will be Kenny Hughes, Brian Irvin, Steven Irvin, Kevin Irvin, Wesley Cheatwood and Steve Shadrix.

 

Interment will follow in Riverside Church Cemetery.

His family will receive friends Monday, January 11th between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 PM.
