Mr. Frank Thomas Holdbrooks, age 81, of 265 Monroe St., Tallapoosa, GA, passed away June 5, 2012. Mr. Holdbrooks was born August 25, 1930 in Buncombe, GA to the late Robert Daniel and LeVicie Robinson Holdbrooks.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers in law, Lucille and Joyce Robinson, Ted and Leonard Thomas, Dorsey Johnson, Myrl and Henry Williams and Pearl Williamson; and brothers and sisters in law, Paul Holdbrooks, Lee and Evelyn Holdbrooks, David Holdbrooks, Neal and Myrtle Holdbrooks and Hoyt and Lucille Holdbrooks.

Frank retired from Lockeed after 37 and ½ years. He loved to play golf, bird hunt and work on lawn mowers.

He is survived by his wife Ethel Dodson Holdbrooks of Tallapoosa; daughters and sons in law, Sherry and Kenneth Reece of Tallapoosa and Shelia and Terry Morgan of Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Ken Reece, April Hurston, Stephen and Morgan Smith and Stephanie Morgan; great-grandchildren, Isabella Smith and Brianna Smith; and sisters in law, Carolyn Holdbrooks and Evelyn Holdbrooks.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 1:00 PM from Riverside Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Galloway and Rev. Leonard Robinson officiating. He will lie in state at the church from 12:00 – 1:00. Music will be provided by Robin Finley, Dean Wright, Terry and Carol Dobbins and Denese McClure. Pallbearers serving will be Bynum Holdbrooks, Randy Holdbrooks, Herbie Williams, Stephen Smith, Ken Reece and Henry Jaillet. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Frank’s nephews.

Interment will follow in Riverside Church Cemetery with Bro. Barry Hutcheson officiating.

Frank’s family will receive friends, Wednesday evening, June 6 between the hours of 6:00 & 9:00 PM.
