Mr. J. H. Woody, age 80, of 214 James St., Tallapoosa, GA passed away on January 26, 2013. He was born on August 3, 1932 in Edwardsville, AL to the late James McKinley and Viola Morgan Woody. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Lee Woody.

Mr. Woody retired from security at the University of West Georgia. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Falcons.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda Godwin Woody of Tallapoosa; son and daughter-in-law, James Greg and Gail Woody of Whitesburg, GA; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 28, 2013, between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 2:00 PM from the Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Brooks officiating. Pallbearers serving will be members of the Haralson County Veterans' Association.

Interment will follow in the Hollywood Cemetery in Tallapoosa with the Haralson County Veterans' Association providing full military honors.
